Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.
“Mount Pleasant Baptist Church exists to love and worship God, to love and serve one another, our local community and the wider world. Our aim is to make disciples by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.”
We are very excited about our new building which will enable us to provide spiritual and practical support to all our community.
As a church, we are committed to creating opportunities for others to explore the Christian faith, develop ways of meeting local needs and encourage people to enjoy the life God has given us.
Our move towards this new facility began over fifteen years ago when we decided there was a need to provide a modern facility. Our attempts to improve the old chapel were severely restricted when the building was listed by CADW half way through planning a Modernisation Project.
We purchased the site and acquired detailed architect drawings and planning consent and are currently erecting both internal and external walls around the steel work. The next stage is laying the first floor concrete followed by two staircases. We plan to continue with the walls and trust the funding we need will come in to erect the roof. This will enable us to work in all weathers and plan completion of the internals.
Our young and older folk need somewhere where they can drop in, relax and meet friends. Somewhere they can make their own and where we can provide for them with existing and future projects.
Here are some comments from our members:-
“We must be community focused.”
“We need to be known in the community as a place for unconditional love.”
“The young need a place to meet”.
“The building must be a multipurpose facility, not just for Sunday.”
“The building must be a vibrant place for the community”.
