Project History

Artist’s impression of proposed new building
We are very excited about our new building which will enable us to provide spiritual and practical support to all our community.
As a church, we are committed to creating opportunities for others to explore the Christian faith, develop ways of meeting local needs and encourage people to enjoy the life God has given us.
Our move towards this new facility began over fifteen years ago when we decided there was a need to provide a modern facility.  Our attempts to improve the old chapel were severely restricted when the building was listed by CADW (Historic Environment Service of the Welsh Assembly) mid way through planning a Modernisation Project.
The site we are building on became available and was subsequently purchased by the Church. Detailed architect drawings were drawn up and submitted to the Local Authority for planning consent. This proved to be more difficult than we had imagined but eventually consent was given for the construction work to begin. To date the steel work has been erected, external and internal walls block work completed, the two staircases and first floor concreted.  The next phase of the project is to make the building weather proof. To do this we need to get the roof installed along with the glass and doors. This will enable us to work in all weathers and plan completion of the internal areas.
Our young and older folk alike need somewhere where they can drop in, relax and meet friends. Somewhere they can make their own and where we can provide for them with existing and future projects.
